The Best Fish in the League

At age 21, the Los Angeles Angels center fielder, Mike Trout is taking Major League Baseball by storm. He performs on the field in ways that surprise analysts and fans alike.

Amazing catch after amazing catch seem to be an every day occurrence for this center fielder. But not only can he perform defensively, but offensively as well. He steps up to the plate and his .341 average is intimidating pitchers. His average is higher than one of the best hitters the MLB has ever seen in the Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera (.327).

Trout seems unstoppable. The American League Rookie of the Year award could be given to him right now. There is not another rookie in the AL that can compete with the stats that he has achieved in his first year. Not only is his average impressive, but he also has 24 home runs, 72 RBIs, and 41 stolen bases. He is on track to join the 30-30 club (30 home runs and 30 steals). He is the youngest player to join the 20-40 club (20 home runs and 40 steals).

He is impressive every time he walks onto the field and I’m excited about what his career is going to look like because if this year is an indication, the MLB is looking at a Hall of Fame player.
