The following article stirred up a lot of emotions in me: Ryan Braun Tests Positive
I’m pissed. Ryan Braun was named the National League Most Valuable Player, but he knew that he was going to be getting a 50-game drug suspension.
This is not okay. Under no circumstances is this right.
Should they go as far as to take away his MVP award? I don’t know, but I do know that he has done something very wrong and this isn’t okay.
What is the MLB going to do next? They’ve had drug testing in place for a long time. Players like A-Rod have been exposed because of using performance-enhancing drugs.
I cannot morally be okay with the fact the MVP of the National League, won the award while using performance-enhancing drugs. Clayton Kershaw, was in a similar position to Justin Verlander. He achieved the Triple Crown and won the Cy Young. He could have been considered for the MVP. Matt Kemp, who came in second in the voting, probably didn’t get as many votes because his team didn’t make the playoffs.
There’s something wrong with this and I think that performance-enhancing drug test results should play a role in the decision of the MVP. Just sayin’
Now we have to move on and let’s see how the Brewers do next year with Braun on the bench and possibly being without Prince Fielder. All I know is that it is going to be interesting and they will be a team to keep an eye on.
