The All-Star game was a very large blow-out this year. The American League couldn’t score a run if they tried. A lineup that included some of the league’s best hitters, Prince Fielder, Josh Hamilton, Jose Bautista and even Miguel Cabrera. An all-star (for lack of a better term) pitching staff including the likes of Justin Verlander, Jered Weaver and CJ Wilson couldn’t keep the National League hitters at bay.
The game may have been a huge blowout, but fans like myself still tuned in anyway.
I liked seeing Verlander get the start that he deserved at last year’s game when he was the Major League’s best pitcher. It was interesting to see Chipper Jones in his last All-Star game, as well as hear the speech he gave the National League before the start of the game. But it was also exciting to see the young Bryce Harper lost a fly ball in the lights and provide all fans with a little laugh.
